How long do I have to claim?

Claim within 3 months of the death to get the full amount. You can still claim up to 21 months after, but you'll receive less — the exact reduction depends on when you claim, since the 18 monthly payments run from the date of death. After 21 months you generally can't claim, except where the cause of death was only recently confirmed.

How much is Bereavement Support Payment?

With dependent children: £3,500 lump sum plus 18 monthly payments of £350. Without: £2,500 lump sum plus 18 monthly payments of £100.
